Director's Message

Welcome to the Lennox School District State Preschool Program, where children play, sing, learn and thrive in two languages. Thank you for choosing our program to entrust us with your child's early education. We take pride in partnering with parents to help ensure your child is set up to be on the flight path to success and look forward to getting to know you this upcoming school year. The 2024-2025 school year promises to help your child meet his/her developmental needs while getting to know other boys and girls in a play based and research based approach. 

 

Our preschool staff look forward to getting to know your child in a developmentally appropriate classroom environment while developing oral language skills in both English and Spanish. All of our State Preschool teachers are highly qualified and certified by the California Teachers Credential Commission with a Child Development Permit and are bilingual in English and Spanish. They are prepared to instruct your child in an authentic and meaningful way to ensure your son/daughter is ready for the next grade/level. The majority of our teachers hold a Bachelor’s degree or a Master's degree and are highly prepared to provide hands-on, engaging, memorable, and active learning activities for your child.

 

Our goal is to provide the best instructional program possible for all preschoolers via a well researched based curriculum, High Scope. Instruction is based on children's interests, the California Preschool Foundations, and is taught through both indirect and direct instruction. We focus on the child, follow his/her lead, and reinforce all areas of development, including socio-emotional foundations as evidenced through best practices in Early Childhood Education and integrated approaches offered through the Center for the Study of Social-Emotional Foundations of Early Childhood Learning (CSEFEL) and the Pyramid. Our staff is committed to challenging all students at their developmental level while meeting their individual needs. All are welcome.

As the State Preschool Program Director since 2001 and a former bilingual kindergarten teacher at Buford Elementary School and at the University of California, Los Angeles Laboratory School, I am delighted to work with you to make this a memorable and educational year. Bienvenido al Programa Preescolar Estatal del Distrito Escolar de Lennox, donde los niños juegan, cantan, aprenden y prosperan en dos idiomas. Gracias por elegir nuestro programa y confiarnos con la educación temprana de su hijo(a). Estamos orgullosos de colaborar con los padres de familia para ayudar a garantizar que su hijo esté preparado para emprender el camino hacia el éxito y esperamos conocerlo este próximo año escolar. El año escolar 2024-2025 promete ayudar a su hijo a satisfacer sus necesidades de desarrollo mientras conoce a otros niños y niñas a través de un enfoque basado en el juego y la investigación. 

 

Nuestro personal de preescolar espera conocer a su hijo(a) en un ambiente de clase apropiado para su desarrollo mientras desarrolla habilidades de lenguaje oral tanto en inglés como en español. Todos nuestros maestros de preescolar estatal están altamente calificados y certificados por la Comisión de Credenciales de Maestros de California con un Permiso de Desarrollo Infantil y son bilingües en inglés y español. Están preparados para instruir a su hijo de una manera auténtica y significativa para garantizar que esté listo para el siguiente grado/nivel. La mayoría de nuestros maestros tienen una licenciatura o una maestría y están altamente preparados para brindar actividades de aprendizaje prácticas, interesantes, memorables y activas para su hijo(a).

 

Nuestro objetivo es proporcionar el mejor programa de instrucción posible para todos los niños de edad preescolar a través de un plan de estudios bien investigado, High Scope. La instrucción se basa en los intereses de los niños, los Fundamentos Preescolares de California, y se enseña mediante instrucción directa e indirecta. Nos centramos en el niño(a), seguimos su ejemplo y reforzamos todas las áreas de desarrollo, incluidos los fundamentos socio-emocionales, como lo demuestran las mejores prácticas en educación infantil y los enfoques integrados ofrecidos a través del Centro para el estudio de los fundamentos socio-emocionales de la educación de temprana edad (CSEFEL por sus teclas en inglés) y la Pirámide. Como Directora del Programa Estatal de Preescolar desde 2001 y ex maestra bilingüe de kinder en ambos escuelas, en la Escuela Primaria de Buford y en la Escuela Laboratorio de la Universidad de California en Los Ángeles por seis años, estoy encantada de trabajar con usted para hacer de este un año educativo y memorable.
